FAQs
Where does the name Aptos Ranch come from?
An early connection to nature formed as a young child growing up in Aptos, California; among the redwood forests in and around Nisene Marks State Park and on the beaches - from Beer Can to New Brighton. That connection only grew the further from home I was, and throughout my travels.
The modern town of Aptos was originally called Rancho Aptos when it was part of Mexico in 1833. However, long before that, the area belonged to the indigenous people of the Aptos tribe who had lived since time immemorial off of the bounty that the land and sea had provided them - hunting deer, fishing steelhead, and harvesting staples like acorns, coffeeberry fruit and wild blackberries.
